Boil Water Advisory Ends In York, Cumberland Counties: Penn American Water Co.
Pennsylvania American Water Co. issued a boil water order for customers in York and Cumberland counties, starting on Friday, Aug. 9, and ending on Tuesday, Aug. 13.
The company initially warned that 42,000 customers were affected in the following areas: Camp Hill, Lemoyne, New Cumberland, Shiremanstown, West Fairview and Wormleysburg boroughs; East Pennsboro, Hampden, Lower Allen, Silver Spring townships; parts of Middlesex and Upper Allen townships; and parts of Fairview and Newberry townships.

Nine people have been arrested and a home has been condemned following two drug raids in three days— involving the same man, police say.
The Carlisle Police began an investigation into neighbors' complaints of criminal activity at 138 North East Street in the borough by conducting a warranted search of the home executed by Carlisle Police, Cumberland County Special Response Team, Cumberland County Drug Task Force, and Carlisle Borough Codes Department on January 12, 2023, according to a release by the department on Jan. 30.

A man with a machete chased people at truck stop in Pennsylvania on Thursday, August 25, 2022, authorities say.
The Middlesex Township police arrived at 1501 Harrisburg Pike, Carlisle, to find Joseph Patrick Hone, 38, of Carlisle with the machete, according to a release by the department.
