Batch Of Bogus Bills Seized, Couple Busted In Rochelle Park Stop
More than $2,000 in counterfeit 20s and 50s apparently intended for a Bergen County shopping spree was seized by Rochelle Park police during a traffic stop, authorities said.
Officer Chris Kiszka pulled over the Hyundai Genesis on dead-ended Lexington Avenue off Cliff Street after the driver committed multiple traffic violations shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, Capt. James M. DePreta said.
Empty prescription bottles and other paraphernalia were in plain view, the captain said.
The driver, Wade Wallace, 37, of Trenton also had a suspended license, DePreta said.

Police: Combative Driver Tangles With Officers At Rochelle Park Auto Shop
A BMW owner fought Rochelle Park police after trying to retrieve his disabled car from a local auto body shop, authorities said.
Responding to the call, Sgt. Chris Bermudez and Officer Brian Monico found Erin Andres Espinal, 26, of Brooklyn in a restricted area of the Essex Street shop refusing to leave his 335i, Lt. James DePreta said.
When they asked him to leave, Espinal became combative, tangling with the officers, he said.
Espinal was subdued after a brief struggle, then taken to a local hospital, the lieutenant said.

Struck Maywood Pedestrian, 65, Dies From Injuries
A 65-year-old pedestrian died of his injuries after being struck by a car on West Spring Valley Avenue in Maywood, authorities confirmed Wednesday afternoon.
Jacob John was in the crosswalk at Edel Avenue when he was struck around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Police Chief David Pegg said.
He was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, the chief said, adding that a family member was with him.
The driver, meanwhile, remained at the scene, Pegg said.
"The accident is still under investigation, and no summonses are issued at this time," the chief said Wednesday afternoon.

Police: Rochelle Park Hairdresser Sold Prescription Pills From Salon
ROCHELLE PARK, N.J. -- A Rochelle Park hair dresser sold prescription pills from a local salon, said township police who said they found envelopes prepared, labeled and packaged for sale along with several hundred prescription pills.
They also seized nearly $10,000 in drug proceeds when they arrested Anthony Bianchi, 44, of Nutley in the middle of a drug deal at the Rochlle Avenue salon on Friday, Police Chief Robert Flannelly said.
