Driver Gassing Up On Shoulder Of I-270 Killed In Crash: Maryland State Police
A 36-year-old Virginia man had just pulled over on a Montgomery County highway to gas up his car when he was struck and killed shortly before dawn on New Year’s Day, Maryland State Police said.
Caesar Adigwe Jr., 36, of Spotsylvania, Virginia, was pulled over on the shoulder attempting to put gas in his vehicle and was struck by a Nissan driven by Aaliyah Brown, 22, of Clarksburg, Maryland, according to officials.
The crash occurred on the northbound side of I-270 prior to Old Georgetown Road just before 5 a.m.
Adigwe was taken to Suburban Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Several lanes on I-95 in Cecil County were blocked on Tuesday afternoon as Maryland State Police investigated a fatal crash involving a tractor-trailer.
Anthony Borden, 55, of Tuscumbia, Alabama, has been identified as the driver who was killed on I-95 in Elkton after losing control of his truck and overturning, tying up traffic in the area for more than eight hours.
