Man Robbed, Assaulted By Three Men In Newark: Police
A man was robbed and assaulted by three men in Newark on the early morning of Tuesday, May 14, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said.
At 4:45 a.m., a man was walking toward Ferry Street when three men approached him and began striking him in the face with closed fists, Fragé said.
The man fell to the ground and was then kicked and stomped by the suspects, who took his personal belongings before fleeing on foot, turning left on Lafayette Street, Fragé said.

Anthony Da Mata, a longtime Newark native, is being remembered for his love for his family and his love of sports.
Da Mata 42, passed away suddenly on Friday, April 21. He loved S.L. Benfica, a Portuguese soccer team, the New York Yankees, the New York Rangers and the New York Giants, according to his obituary. He started working for Seabra's Market on Lafayette Street when he was 16, his obituary reads.
