Trooper Rear-Ended By Tractor Trailer On I-76 In Philadelphia A Pennsylvania State Police trooper was hospitalized after being struck by a tractor trailer on I-76 overnight in Philadelphia, police said. The officer was conducting stationary work enforcement in the westbound lanes with his emergency lights fully activated near milepost 340.5 in Philadelphia, when he was struck around 3:50 a.m., a spokesperson for the agency said. The trooper sustained moderate injuries as a result of the impact and was taken by Philadelphia Fire and EMS to the hospital for further evaluation.

Harrisburg Woman, 38, Killed On Turnpike In Lancaster County: Police One woman has died after a tractor-trailer hit her car from behind on I-76 in Lancaster County, authorities say.  Kelly M. Little, 38, was stopped in the right westbound lane in Clay Township around 2 a.m. on Thursday, April 11, state police said in a release.  The tractor-trailer was going 65 mph when it struck her Mercedes-Benz and flipped the car on its passenger side, troopers said.  Little, of Harrisburg, was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.

Truck Hauling Deli Meat Catches Fire On Schuylkill Expressway A truck carrying deli meat caught fire and crashed on the Schuylkill Expressway early Monday morning in Montgomery County, authorities said. Fire crews arrived on the eastbound side of I-76 between Conshohocken and Hollow Road around 3:45 a.m. and stayed on the scene for nearly 90 minutes extinguishing the fire, according to Gladwyne Fire Company. The driver was able to detach the cab portion as the trailer burned, 6abc reports. The driver remained unharmed.
