Five Busted For Various Offenses During Burglary Probe, Haledon PD Says
Two teens who were arrested by Haledon police during a burglary raid were joined by three other people, one of whom had a gun and the other two outstanding warrants, authorities said.
Police investigating the theft of Apple air pads, ab IPad, a Playstation 4, prescription medication and $1,260.00 in collectible coins from Hobart Avenue found the borough group while executing a search warrant on Tilt Street, Capt. George Guzman Jr. said.
They seized Anthony Scarpa and Alejandro Navarro, both 18, in connection with the burglary, while grabbing Elijah Mercer, also 18, who he said had a gun.

Haledon Police Stop Turns Up Loaded Gun, Drugs, $2,393 In Cash
A passenger was found toting a loaded handgun during a traffic stop, Haledon police said.
Officer Jeffrey Welsh stopped a Nissan Altima whose driver failed to signal a turn on Belmont Avenue shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday, Capt. George Guzman said.
The driver also failed to produce proof of registration or insurance, he said.
Passenger David Rodriguez, 25, of Paterson was asked to step out of the sedan after giving Welsh a fake name, the captain said.

One Caught, 4 Sought, Three Guns Tossed In Wild Haledon Police Pursuit, Crash Of Stolen Minivan
Five occupants of a stolen minivan bailed out, tossing handguns as they went, after it crashed into a parked car during a brief but wild Haledon police pursuit. One of them, a 19-year-old Teaneck man, was caught. The rest fled.
Officer Jeffrey Welsh had tried stopping the speeding Honda Odyssey, reported stolen out of Garfield, in the 100 block of Cliff Street shortly before 8:30 p.m. Monday, Capt. George Guzman said.
The driver ignored Welsh’s emergency lights and sirens and sped off, ultimately losing control and crashing on Legion Place off Lee Avenue, Guzman said.

Police: Repeat Offender Took $86,000 In Drugs, More In Back-To-Back Wayne Pharmacy Smash-Grabs
A career criminal who was jailed following a Clifton police car crash during a pursuit stole more than $86,000 worth of drugs, scratch-off lottery tickets and a delivery vehicle from a Wayne pharmacy, authorities said.
Joseph Holman, 41, of Passaic broke into the Plains Pharmacy at the Valley Ridge Shopping Center twice in less than 24 hours in late May, Detective Capt. Dan Daly said.
The first time, he took $14,200 worth of scratch-off tickets after shattering the glass front door shortly before 4:30 a.m., Daly said.
