A Long Island man faces grand larceny charges after robbing a gas station before leading authorities on a multi-county chase and fighting officers in Westchester, police said.
The incident began on Wednesday, March 1, around 5:15 a.m., when sheriff's deputies in Putnam County were sent to a Gulf gas station in Southeast at 1565 Route 22 for an armed robbery, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

Police are asking for help identifying the man who attacked a customer at an area gas station with an ax, said the Hamden Police Department.
The incident took place around 4:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 9, at the Gulf Gas Station, at 1624 Dixwell Ave., said the Hamden Police.
According to police, an investigation revealed that the victim, a 50-year-old Hamden resident, was involved in a verbal dispute with an unidentified customer.
The customer “became very upset” when the victim was backing his motor vehicle near the gas pumps, police said.

Following a several-months-long investigation, Wilton Police arrested a West Haven woman for being the getaway driver in a cash station burglary last year.
Alicia Sheremeta, 30, of 98 Brown St., was arrested Monday and charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, criminal mischief, larceny and other charges in connection with the Dec. 19, 2017, burglary of the Gulf Gas Station on Danbury Road in Wilton, said Lt. Robert Kluk.
