Norwalk Woman Nabbed For Stealing, Cashing Checks In Westport, Police Say A Fairfield County woman was nabbed for allegedly ripping off checks, altering them, and then cashing them.  Norwalk resident Joann Guzman, age 28, was arrested on Sunday, Feb. 25, for the incident that occurred in January. According to Westport Police Lt. Eric Woods, Westport Police initiated an investigation after a complaint was made concerning checks being stolen, altered, and cashed.  The investigation revealed that two neighbors were contacted by two different banks concerning checks that were being cashed against their accounts by the same person, Woods said…

Nicole Brayman of New London, was charged on Saturday, Jan. 20 in Darien. According to Sgt. Windham County resident Jayden Velasquez, age 24, of Windham, was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 1 after Connecticut State Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle. Man Arrested For Forgery, ID Theft From Local Business, Police Say A man wanted for allegedly fraudulently cashing payroll checks from a Fairfield County business has been arrested on a warrant. Mandel Bidone, 29, of Ansonia, was arrested on Saturday, April 25, by the Wilton Police Department, following an investigation into the event that took place in January, said Lt. Robert Kluk. Bidone was taken into custody without incident and charged with identity theft, forgery, and criminal attempt at larceny.  He was released on a promise to appear ticket and is scheduled to appear in court on June 10.

Woman Nabbed With Counterfeit $100 Bills, Greenwich Police Say A 36-year-old woman was nabbed by Greenwich Police for allegedly attempting to purchase items using counterfeit money. Melleisa Alvaranga, of Brooklyn, was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 16, after police responded to a business on Greenwich Avenue for a report of a woman attempting to pass counterfeit money, said the Greenwich Police.
