Red Lobster plans to close more restaurants just weeks after it filed for bankruptcy, according to a new report.
In a bankruptcy petition filed on Sunday, May 19, the company listed assets of $1 billion and liabilities of $10 billion.
Days before the filing, dozens of Red Lobster locations were listed as "temporarily closed" on the company's website, including these New York locations:

Rite Aid Announces 14 Long Island Stores Slated For Closure After Declaring Bankruptcy
Rite Aid has announced specific store closures just days after the struggling pharmacy chain filed for bankruptcy.
Of the 154 closures nationwide announced on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 20 are in New York, 14 of which are on Long Island.
Rite Aid currently has 2,100 stores and about 45,000 employees.

Lottery Winner: $50K Ticket Sold At This Copiague Store
A local Long Island store sold a third-prize lottery ticket, officials announced.

On Sunday, Aug. 13, New York Lottery officials announced that a third-prize winning Powerball ticket was sold at a Copiague store, Sny Enterprises, located at 880 Merrick Road.
The ticket is worth $50,000 and was part of the Saturday, Aug. 12 drawing.
Powerball game numbers are drawn Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
Winning numbers are drawn from a field of one to 69, with red Powerball being drawn from a separate field of one to 26.

Father, Son Stabbed By Father, Son Stabbed By Contractor, Worker In Copiague
A Long Island father and son were stabbed by a contractor and another man during a fight at the home where the two were working.
The incident took place in Suffolk County around 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 7 at 2686 44th St. in Copiague.
According to Suffolk County Police, a man and his son were working as contractors at the residence, when they were involved in an altercation with two of the residents of the home.
The residents, a 34-year-old father, and his 16-year-old son, were both stabbed during the altercation.

Man Who Threw Gun, Drugs While Fleeing Police In Copiague Convicted
A Long Island man has been convicted of possessing a loaded illegal loaded gun and drugs after a noise complaint turned into a foot chase, authorities said.
Joe Nunez, aged 34, of Copiague, was found guilty by jury trial of felony charges that originated from an unrelated noise complaint, the Suffolk County District Attorney announced.
According to the trial, on August 14, 2022, police responded to noise complaints near Campagnoli Avenue.
After wrapping up addressing the complaints, Nunez was seen by police driving an unregistered dirt bike.

A Long Island man was arrested after burglarizing or attempting to burglarize two homes, one ending in the death of a homeowner’s cat, police reported.
Issac Flores, a 29-year-old Copiague resident, was arrested Monday, April 10 inside a Farmingdale home he had broken into, Nassau County Police announced.
The homeowner, a 57-year-old woman, was allegedly notified by her petsitter that the back door of her home had been broken into at around 1:30 p.m.
The woman’s two dogs and three cats had been let out of their crates, leading to one of the dogs killing one of the cats, police said.
