Witnesses Sought In Fatal Hudson Valley Crash
Police are asking for any witnesses to a Hudson Valley crash in which a scooter driver was hit and killed by an SUV to come forward.
Rockland County resident Dariel Rivera, of Central Nyack, was killed around 3:50 a.m., Friday, July 14, on Route 303 in West Nyack.
According to Det. Norm Peters of the Clarkstown Police, officers found Rivera after police received reports of a person lying in the roadway.
Rivera, who was riding an electric scooter, which was found heavily damaged, had sustained severe trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene, Peters said.

A 24-year-old erratic driver from New Jersey is facing charges out of Rockland County, NY for a crash that left one woman dead this week, authorities said.
Corey Womack, of Englewood, was heading west on Route 59 in a gray Audi A6 when he struck a Ford Edge near Broome Boulevard around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 30 in Clarkstown, Det. Norm Peters said.
Witnesses reported seeing a gray Audi being operated erratically while traveling westbound on Route 59 from Waldron Avenue, Peters said.

Man Severely Beaten, Vehicle Stolen During Attack In Area, Police Say
A man was severely beaten and had his vehicle stolen during an attack overnight in the area.
The incident took place in Rockland County around 7:20 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 28, in New City, said Clarkstown Police Officer Norman Peters.
According to Peters, Clarkstown officers responded to the vicinity of Ridge Road and Rt. 304, in New City for a report of a male assaulted.
An adult male was found at the location by officers, he was unclothed and had suffered visible injuries to his body, Peters said.

Two Cats Die, Two Others Rescued After House Fire Breaks Out In Rockland
Two cats were killed, and another two saved after a house fire that left a family homeless in Rockland County.
The fire started around 5:20 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 3, at 192 Strawtown Road, in New City, said Clarkstown Police Officer Norman Peters.
First responding police and firefighters from the New City Fire Department, found the single-family home was engulfed in flames, Peters said.
The two adult residents were located outside the home, uninjured as officers arrived. Four of the family's five cats were retrieved from the home.
