2 Store Clerks Accused Of Selling Alcohol To Minors During Riverhead Compliance Check
Two Long Island businesses were cited for allegedly selling alcohol to minors.
Compliance checks were conducted at 19 retail vendors throughout the Town of Riverhead on Tuesday, Aug. 20.
The operation targeted the sale of alcohol products to patrons under the age of 21.
The following vendors were found not to comply:

It happened on the night of Wednesday, Jan. 3 in Riverhead, according to the Riverhead Police Department.

Peter Saad, age 46, of Calverton, surrendered to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office on Wednesday, Dec. 13, to face charges of grand larceny.
Saad is the principal attorney at the Law Office of Peter A. Saad, Jr., PC, based in Riverhead.
Prosecutors said he stole $25,000 from his attorney escrow account over a two-month period in 2020 after representing a client in the sale of his home.

Steven Reid, age 27, of Calverton, was arraigned on eight felony charges in Suffolk Court on Friday, Oct. 6, in connection to the attack.
Prosecutors said more than 100 people were gathered at a vigil in Bellport on Thursday, July 6, 2023 to honor a community member who had died in a motorcycle crash.

A Long Island pleaded guilty to pushing, biting, and slashing his ex-girlfriend’s family members while trying to get to her, authorities announced.
On Monday, Aug. 21, the Suffolk County DA announced that 30-year-old Calverton resident Guillermo Ayala Jr. admitted guilt for the attack, which occurred in December 2022.

Andrea Alejandra Espana, age 14, was last seen leaving her Calverton home, located on Hill Rise, at around 6 p.m. Monday, March 27, according to Suffolk County Police.
Espana is described as a white, Hispanic female, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and 127 pounds. She has long black hair and brown eyes.

Long Island Driver Killed In Two-Vehicle Crash After Running Red Light, Police Say
A 61-year-old Long Island man was killed in a two-vehicle crash after he allegedly ran a red light.
The crash took place in Calverton around 6:14 a.m., Thursday, April 1.
That's when Leonor Parra-Nunez, of Coram, was driving a 1997 Nissan Maxima northbound on Burman Boulevard when he ran a red light at Route 25, and his vehicle was struck by an eastbound 2010 Chevrolet Equinox in Calverton, said Riverhead Police Det. Michael Schmidt.
