Joe Bryant, the former Philadelphia 76ers forward and father of Kobe Bryant, died Tuesday, July 16, the New York Times reports. He was 69 years old. Nicknamed "Jellybean," Bryant was a Philadelphia native and La Salle University alumnus who spent four years with the Sixers from 1975 to 1979, including their 1977 championship bid. A woman who walked away from a retirement community in Gladwyne on Monday has been found deceased, said Lower Merion police. Nadine Beech, 84, left Waverly Heights, 1400 Waverly Road, around 10:30 a.m. that day, authorities said previously. She was last spotted on the 700 block of Morris Road near Waverly Road in Bryn Mawr, heading south toward Old Gulph Road.
