The average seven-day COVID-19 infection rate has been fluctuating in the Hudson Valley, from 3.49 percent of those tested on Sunday, Aug. 22, down to 3.41 percent the following day before rising up to 3.51 percent according to the latest data released by the state Department of Health. In Orange County, the 6.7 percent positivity rate of those tested for COVID-19 is the highest in the state, followed by Rockland County, which sat at a total of 6.2 percent over the weekend. The rates are the highest in New York, in front of Bronx County (5.5 percent), and Suffolk County (5.4 percent). Covid-19: New Data On Deaths By Age Group, County Released By New York State New data on the number of deaths in New York due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) by age group and county has been released by the state health department. The age group with most of the state's  4,159 COVID-19 deaths is 70 to 79 with 1,096 (26.3 percent). It's followed closely by the 80-89 age group with 1,076 (25.8 percent).
