A 21-year-old man has been formally charged for an alleged high-speed, drunk-driving crash that seriously injured another motorist in a Long Island neighborhood.
Ryan Wilson, of West Islip, was indicted on vehicular assault and related charges in Suffolk County Court on Friday, May 31, stemming from a crash that occurred Saturday, March 9, in West Islip.
Prosecutors said Wilson was intoxicated when his Tesla Model Y came speeding down West Islip Road at around 8:45 p.m. and slammed into another vehicle that was backing out of a driveway.

A 22-year-old South Jersey man was killed in a March 22 car accident, according to a GoFundMe campaign.
Anthony DeAnne Jr., of Berlin, died in the crash, according to his aunt, Gia.
The three-car head-on crash occurred in Voorhees, as previously reported by Daily Voice.
Anthony left a 2-year-old son, Anthony, behind along with his girlfriend, Faith.
"If you knew Anthony, you knew he loved harder than most," Gia wrote. "He never walked in or out without hugging everyone and saying 'I love you'. He was a beautiful person and a wonderful father."
