Dead Goats, Chickens: More Than 160 Sick Animals Seized From Ayer Woman's Home, DA Says
A 77-year-old Middlesex County woman has been charged after police found 162 animals inside her home, some of which were dead, while many others were malnourished, sick, or covered in bugs, police said.
Ruth Maxant-Schulz, 77, of Ayer, was charged with 30 counts of animal cruelty following a police raid at her home, the Middlesex District Attorney said on Monday, April 8, after her arraignment.
Officers were called to her Taft Street home on Feb. 20 and found several animals roaming outside the house.

Second Bomb Threat At Tufts University Cancels Classes, Pushes Back Exams
The second reported bomb threat of Tufts University sparked evacuations across campus, canceled classes and postponed final exams, school officials said.
The threat was reported at Tufts' Medford/Somerville campus around 9 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15, according to Tufts Police.
The threat was targeted towards the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Department of Philosophy, Department of Mathematics, East Hall and Anderson Hall, police said.

Five Massachusetts colleges are among the most expensive four-year institutions in the United States, according to a report from CBS News.
On March 10, the news outlet shared a ranking of the 50 most expensive colleges in the country based on information from The National Center for Education Statistics.

Suzanne Grant Of Mount Kisco, Store Owner, Bedford School Board Member, Dies At 56
A Mount Kisco resident and shop owner, six-year Bedford school board member Suzanne Grant, died Sunday, Sept. 1, at age 56.
She was born on Oct. 8, 1962, in Rochester to Ronald (deceased) and Dolores Sibs.
Grant was a graduate of Tufts University. She was a member of the Bedford Central School Board for six years, and a local volunteer.
She was also the co-proprietor of PORCH Home + Gifts, a retail store in Mount Kisco.
