Ethan Allen Opening In Somerset County Shopping Center Ethan Allen is coming to Somerset County. The furniture retailer announced they will be opening a 4,321 square feet showroom at Greenbrook Commons in Watchung, at the site of a former Chase Bank. Greenbrook Commons is also home to Aldi, BJ's Wholesale Club, Buffalo Wild Wings and The Vitamin Shoppe. Ethan Allen has six other locations in the Garden State including in Whippany, Somerville, Paramus, Marlton, Englishtown and Princeton. It was recently named the Best Retailer in Premium Furniture by Newsweek.

Duo Attempts Three Burglaries: Fairfield PD Two people attempted three home burglaries in Fairfield on the early morning of Saturday, May 25, authorities said. At 1 p.m., police responded to Irvine Turner Boulevard and Marie Place and found a man who had been shot, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. He was transported to University Hospital and is in stable condition, Fragé said. The shooting remains under investigation, Fragé said.

ShopRite Cashier Pepper Sprayed: Newark PD A cashier at ShopRite was pepper sprayed by a 17-year-old in Newark on Thursday May 23, authorities said. At 12:20 p.m., the cashier was pepper sprayed following an altercation with the 17-year-old at the ShopRite on Springfield Avenue, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The cashier was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and is in stable condition, Fragé said. The juvenile was arrested and faces charges of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and harassment, Fragé said.

Six-Year-Old Struck By Vehicle: Linden PD A six-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle in Linden on Friday, May 24, authorities said. The girl was struck while crossing W. St. George Avenue, Linden police said in a release. She was transported to Newark University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. No other injuries were reported, police said. W. St. George Avenue was closed westbound at N. Stiles Street for two hours following the crash, police said. The crash remains under investigation by the Linden Police Traffic Bureau.
