50 MPH Winds Knock Power To More Than 30K New Jersey Residents
Wind gusts nearing 50 miles per hour left thousands of New Jersey residents without power Monday, March 11.
According to the National Weather Service, winds are expected to die down in the evening with a wind advisory in effect until 11 p.m.
Skies will be mostly cloudy with a high near 50.
As of 4:15 p.m., the following areas did not have power:

Lynn "Lynja" Yamada Davis, 67-year-old TikToker and New Jersey resident who thrilled millions with her cooking and humor, has died.
Davis, of Holmdel, died of esophageal cancer at Riverview Medical Center on Jan. 1, the New York Times reports.
Her death was announced by her children on Instagram on Friday, Jan. 12.

A 1.7 magnitude earthquake in Astoria, NY was felt all the way up in North Jersey on the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 2, according to the US Geological Survey.
The earthquake was felt in Pompton Plains, Parsippany, West Orange, Union, Holmdel, Fort Lee, Ridgewood and Paterson, the USGS map shows.
According to NBC4, FDNY firefighters responded to reports of small booms called in by residents south of the Roosevelt Island Tramway sometime before 6 a.m.

Firefighters Knock Down House Fire Closed Holmdel Street
Firefighters knocked down a fire that closed a street in Holmdel Monday, Sept. 25.
The blaze broke out around 11:10 a.m., bringing firefighters from several companies to Holmdel Road.
All residents had evacuated when police arrived, and the blaze was put out by firefighters, police said. No injuries were reported.
The Holmdel Fire Department and First Aid responded along with fire and first aid units from Hazlet, Union Beach, Middletown, Keyport, Tinton Falls, and Aberdeen.

Italian Specialty Store 'Il Mercato' Coming To Holmdel
South Jersey shoppers and gourmands can look forward to the arrival of a new Italian specialty grocer.
Il Mercato, a self-styled purveyor of "fine-catered foods, meats, and Italian specialties" is coming to Holmdel, management has announced on Facebook.
The shop, to be located at 37 Main Street at the site of the former Cracked Olive Market, is still under construction according to managers.

Asbury Park Man, 75, Killed In Crash On Garden State Parkway
A 75-year-old man from Asbury Park was killed in a single-car crash on the Garden State Parkway, authorities said.
Francis Pescatore was driving an Infiniti passenger car south in the express lanes at 1:11 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9 in Holmdel, according to New Jersey State Police.
In the area of milepost 117.5, the vehicle struck the right guardrail, ran off the road to the left, struck the guardrail and traveled down an embankment and draining culvert, according to Trooper Charles Marchan, a State Police spokesman.
As a result of the crash, Pescatoro sustained fatal injuries, he said.
