Phillipsburg is mourning the loss of a lifelong resident and beloved teen.
Alexa Marie Brown, “Alexita,” died Thursday, August 24 at age 16.
Born in Phillipsburg, Alexa was known for her wide range of hobbies, including cheerleading, softball, and basketball, in which she became “a competitor on and off the court” with the help of her father, her obituary says. She played on several basketball teams, including the Steele Hill Bulldogs, Steele Hill Warriors and Team Jenkins.

Dutchess County resident Ryan Patrick Brennan, of Lagrangeville, died on Monday, Sept. 19, at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, according to his obituary.

A funeral is scheduled this Friday, March 18, for a Hudson County firefighter who died suddenly last week.
Terence “Terry” Shevlin, 44, followed in the footsteps of his father, the late Edward Flood, in becoming a career firefighter.
The lifelong Weehawken resident joined North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue in September 2007.

Thousands of dollars have been raised for the funeral of a 24-year-old Long Island man who was killed in a crash over the weekend.
A GoFundMe that was created for the funeral of Christian Valero, of Central Islip, has raised $2,545 of its $12,000 goal as of Monday, Dec. 13.
"Sadly, today i lost the love of my life me and family are devastated," Karina Benitez, the creator of the GoFundMe, wrote.
Benitez said all the funds raised will help pay for Valero's funeral.

Three Victims Of 2 Fatal Route 30 Crashes IDd By Coroner
The identities of the three people killed in two separate crashes along Route 30 have been released by the Lancaster County Coroner’s office.
Both crashes happened on Nov. 10, in West Hempfield Township near the Prospect Road interchange, as Daily Voice reported at the time.
The first crash occurred when Tinnell Davis Jr., 23, of Baltimore, Maryland, and Cayla Raye, 23, of Aberdeen, Maryland, who were in a Honda Accord, crossed the grass median and hit a box truck, according to police.

Shane J. Bouder, of Media, PA, formerly Phoenixville, PA, died on April 24, 2021. He was 18.
Bouder was two months shy of graduating from Penncrest High School, where he was remembered for being a wrestler, according to his obituary.
