Cyclists Ride For Popular LGBTQ+ Advocate Killed In Frederick Bicycle Crash

Now, those who knew and loved him are organizing two special rides just for him.
Binde, 63, of Alexandria, VA, was struck by a Toyota 4Runner while trying to cross US Route 15 and Catoctin Furnace Road in Frederick, MD on Saturday, June 1, officials said. He was pronounced dead by first responders.

Middletown, Newburgh Companies Announce Some 300 Job Layoffs
Several hundred Hudson Valley workers will lose their jobs as three companies, either close, merge or cutback on production.
The companies, all located in Orange County, Frito-Lay and Gen-Pak, both in Middletown, and Amscan in Newburgh, filed WARN Notices with the state that inform them of upcoming layoffs.
Frito-Lay said it would lay off 88 workers beginning on Friday, Aug. 30 due to construction projects at the plant. The workers will not be rehired.

The man accused of hitting a University at Albany student from Long Island with his dirt bike, leaving her in a medically induced coma, formally responded to the charges against him.
Albany County resident Austin Breyette, age 25, of Watervliet, pleaded not guilty to assault and related charges on Monday, June 3, stemming from an alleged hit-and-run crash that seriously injured UAlbany freshman Alexa Kropf.
The 18-year-old Kropf, a Long Island native from Floral Park, was struck just blocks from the UAlbany campus at around midnight Saturday, April 27.
