Erratic, Wrong-Way Driver Hits 2 Cars In Head-On Long Island Crash, Police Say
A 48-year-old woman is facing charges after allegedly striking two cars head on while driving erratically on Long Island, authorities said.
Several people called 911 at around 2:50 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, to report that the driver of a Honda had struck multiple highway signs and guard rails on Route 27 in Southampton, according to the Southampton Town Police Department.
Investigators said the driver, identified as Tatiana Martin, of Easthampton, then merged onto County Road 39, near the Southampton Golf Club, continuing to strike signs and driving on curbs.

An individual was brought into custody after police said he threatened to set fire to his Long Island home.
Police responded to a Westhampton residence at about 5:50 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20, after receiving the report about a male, whose age was not identified, threatening to set his house on fire, the Southampton Town Police Department said.
Southampton Police responded along with Westhampton Beach Police Department and Suffolk County K9, authorities said.

Three people were injured, including a 9-year-old child, during a two-vehicle crash on Long Island.
The head-on crash in Westhampton occurred around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31 on County Road 31 by Gabreski Airport.
According to Lt. Susan Ralph, of the Southampton Police, an investigation revealed that a 2020 Chevy Traverse with four occupants, including a 2-week-old child, was traveling southbound on Country Road 31 when it collided with a 2006 Honda Pilot with one occupant.

Police and rescue squads are combing the waters of Long Island for a man who allegedly jumped into the waters of Long Island and disappeared.
The incident took place in Southampton around 2:10 a.m., Thursday, July 14.
Southampton Town Police 911 was contacted by a woman saying her companion was missing after attempting to swim across the Shinnecock Canal, said Lt. Susan Ralph, of the Southampton Police.
The man, identified as John Escorcia-Arroyo, age 22, of Westhampton, left the Dream Night Club and jumped into the inlet, Ralph said.

A Long Island man who was allegedly high on drugs, was arrested after stealing a vehicle, snatching two purses from women, and then taking police on a pursuit before crashing.
The incident took place on Friday, Nov. 27, after Southampton Town were informed by Suffolk County Police that patrol units were in search of a vehicle that was involved in a vehicle pursuit after a man had stolen a vehicle in the county police district and led officers to the Southampton Town area, said Lt. Long Island Man Arrested For Thefts From Victims With Disabilities, Police Say
A Long Island man was arrested following a months-long investigation into thefts from residents of a home for people with disabilities.
Sean Haynes, 32, of Westhampton, was arrested on Thursday, Nov. 19, following the investigation, said Southampton Police Lt. Susan Ralph.
According to Ralph, Haynes, a house manager at the Independent Group Living Home, began stealing monies from several residents’ accounts depleting the victim’s bank accounts.
