Suspect On Loose After 40-Year-Old Yonkers Man Shot, Killed: Report Authorities are searching for whoever fatally shot a 40-year-old man from Westchester, according to reports.  The shooting happened in the Bronx on Wednesday, Oct. 2 around 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of East 198th Street and Pond Place, according to a report by ABC7.  The outlet said that 40-year-old Yonkers resident Kavon Reid was shot in the back in front of a senior home. Cynthia Johnson ran back inside her home on Valley Way to try to save her cats as the house burned around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 20, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II said. Johnson was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston where she was pronounced dead at 1 p.m. that day. The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation.

The fire was reported at about 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16 on McKinley Avenue South in Woodbridge Township, initial reports said. A medical helicopter was requested for a 30-year-old woman who had suffered burns, an unconfirmed report said. A spokesman for the Iselin Fire Department confirmed that one victim was airlifted to St. Barnabas Hospital. No other details were released.
