Somerset County is grieving the tragic loss of a beloved one-year-old girl through an outpour of heartfelt tributes and memorial donations.
Journey Milani Lovett died Friday, July 14, her obituary says.
Born on Father’s Day 2022, Journey is lovingly described in her memorial as the “sun, moon, stars to everyone” — “the Galaxy to her parents Jamiyl and Arielle,” and “the sunshine to her brothers, Jadiel, and Jessiah."

A 39-year-old Georgia man was drunk when he became angry and held woman at gunpoint for nearly an hour in a Central Jersey hotel room in front of her children, then shot her, authorities said.
The victim, 37, was ultimately able to escape from Eder Gelin with gunshot wounds to her foot and hip, as he chased her from a room at a World's Fair Drive hotel in Franklin Township around 1:25 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 21, Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald said.

Woman With Strong Ties To Philly Reported Missing In South Jersey
Police in Camden County are seeking the public's help locating a woman who has gone missing.
Afifa Hudspeth, 40, was last seen at her home on Nov. 3 wearing grey sweatpants, a black and white shirt, and black and white Vans shoes, according to Pennsauken police.
She was reported missing on Nov. 12 around 4 p.m., police said.
She is described as a Black female, about 4' 11" tall, with a stocky build, brown eyes, and brown hair.
She has strong ties to Philadelphia, PA, and Mercer, and Somerset counties, according to police.

Prosecutor: Hunterdon County Man, 26, Charged With Sexual Assault, Child Endangerment
A 26-year-old Readington man was being held in the Warren County Jail on charges of sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child and lewdness, authorities said.
Jose Ramos-Ramirez was arrested April 10 on second, third and fourth degree charges, respectively, Acting Hunterdon County Prosecutor Michael J. Williams, Acting Chief of Detectives Frank R. Crisologo, and Readington Township Police Chief Joseph Greco said Monday.
The alleged crimes occurred in Readington Township, Williams said.
