Man, Woman Nabbed As Suspects After Armed Robbery At Port Jefferson Station Convenience Store
Two suspects have been apprehended after an armed robbery of a Long Island convenience store.
A man approached an employee of Speedy Mart and Gas in Port Jefferson Station, located at 1034 Route 112, displayed a gun, and demanded cash, at around 9:20 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, Suffolk County Police said.
The clerk complied, and the robber fled the scene on foot to a vehicle waiting down the street.
Canvasing the area, a patrol unit officer stopped two people, one of whom matched the suspect’s description.

A man has been apprehended after police say he made a threat of mass harm at a Long Island school.
The man, identified as 63-year-old John Carroll, drove into the parking lot of Cherokee Street Elementary School, located in Ronkonkoma, and yelled threatening statements at school staff, at approximately 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, Suffolk County Police said.
Following an investigation by SCPD Fourth Precinct Crime Section officers, Carroll, a Ronkonkoma resident, was located and taken into custody at his residence at about 12:15 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14.

Lake Grove Man Who Made Sexual Comments To A Girl, 11, Nabbed At Home, Police Say
A Lake Grove man was arrested after allegedly running up behind an 11-year-old girl leaving school and began making sexual propositions.
The incident took place in Selden on Tuesday around 3:25 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 20 Commonwealth Ave.
According to Suffolk County Police, the girl was approached by Zachary Chase, age 28, as she was walking home from Selden Middle School.
Police said Chase ran up from behind the victim and made sexual propositions to her before she ran home.
Chase then left the scene in a car, striking a pole as he fled, police said.

Man Apprehended After Allegedly Stabbing Grandfather To Death At Long Island Home
A man has been apprehended after police say he fatally stabbed his grandfather at a Long Island home overnight.
It happened around 7:45 p.m. Monday, June 13 in Shirley.
John Pilgrim, age 80, was at his residence, located at 134 Hounslow Road, when his grandson, 34-year-old Christopher Clarke, stabbed him to death, Suffolk County Police said.
Clarke then fled the scene on foot, according to police.
Pilgrim was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

A man has been apprehended after police say he raped a teenager he conversed with on Snapchat.
Andrew Ramsaroop, age 30, of Queens, then met the victim at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove on Friday, May 13 during which he attempted to have the victim and her friend enter his vehicle, but they refused, Suffolk County Police said.
Later that day, the victim met with Ramsaroop at a playground on Devonshire Road in Hauppauge, said police.

A Long Island man has been apprehended in the Hudson Valley for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend to death.
Wayne Chambers, age 49, of Medford, was arrested on Friday, July 30 in Orange County in connection with the Thursday, July 22 murder of 46-year-old Sandra McIntosh, in Holtsville, said Suffolk County Police.
Chambers, 49, was apprehended in Newburgh by Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives, members of the City of Newburgh Police Department, the New York State Police, and United States Marshals Service.

A man accused of threatening several law enforcement officers and members of the Jewish community on Long Island pretended to be an abused 11-year-old as part of a relentless harassment campaign against police in Fort Lee, authorities said.
Bradley Goldberg, 47, of Cedarhurst, LI, used a voice modifier and untraceable “spoof” numbers as part of the assault, a police complaint charges.

Canine Section Officer Sean Clarke and his partner Brock were on patrol in Stony Brook in response to recent overnight burglaries when Clarke observed the suspect break the glass door of Subway, located in Stony Brook at 2350 Route 347, at approximately 1:25 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, Suffolk County Police said.

A suspect has been apprehended after a stabbing outside a Long Island restaurant.
The incident happened Friday, Jan. 1 at approximately 5:40 p.m. in Farmingville.
Following an alteration, Arlington Guzman-Mejia, age 38, of Port Jefferson Station, stabbed a man outside of Los Amigos Restaurant, located at 1075 Portion Road, Suffolk County Police said.
