Fatal Crash: Shoreham 54-Year-Old ID'd After Car Hits Pole, Tree In Port Jefferson Station
Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that left a Long Island man dead overnight.
It happened around 12:45 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 20 in Port Jefferson Station.
The victim was driving a 2012 Hyundai Genesis southbound on Route 112, near Washington Avenue, when he lost control of the vehicle, which struck a telephone pole and a fire hydrant, and then crashed into a tree, Suffolk County Police said.

A Long Island teenager who was reported missing twice in a week has been found.
Shyma Dahoui, age 15, left a relative’s home in Shoreham, located on Vee Jay Drive, at around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, according to Suffolk County Police.
On Sunday, June 4, police announced that Dahoui had been located and was unharmed.

A Long Island man was killed after being struck by a Mercedes-Benz, police say.
It happened on Wednesday, May 13 at 12:15 p.m. in Coram.
A Shoreham man was driving the 2010 Mercedes northbound on North Ocean Avenue, near Hawkins Road, when the vehicle struck the man who walked into the roadway into the path of the vehicle, Suffolk County Police said.
William Moschetto, 33, of Mount Sinai, was taken via ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, said police.

A woman crossing a busy Long Island roadway was struck and killed by an SUV.
It happened on Sunday, Jan. 12 at approximately 6:10 p.m. in Shoreham.
The woman was crossing westbound Route 25A, in front of the Rocky Point Fire Department, when she was struck by a 2018 Hyundai SUV at approximately 6:10 p.m., Suffolk County Police said.
The woman, who has yet to be identified by police, was transported to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson where she died from her injuries.
