A $6.6 million mansion tops the list of most expensive homes sold in Monmouth County in the last 30 days, according to Zillow. According to Redfin, home prices were up 11.5% for September 2024 compared to last year, with a median selling price of $697,000. Art Gallery Catches Fire Along Jersey Shore: Police
An art gallery caught fire along the Jersey Shore, authorities said. Wall Township police said a driver called 911 and reported smoke coming from OPI Gallery on Route 35 at around 2:48 p.m. on Friday, May 3. North Jersey Man Drowns At Jersey Shore Beach: Police
An Essex County man drowned in the ocean at a beach along the Jersey Shore, authorities said. Spring Lake police responded to the beachfront near St. Clair Avenue for a swimmer in distress at around 2:05 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, the department said in a news release. The first officers at the scene found a man floating face down in the surf and he was pulled out of the water for life-saving measures. An SUV crashed into a utility pole in Monmouth County, shutting down a road and knocking out power, authorities said. In a Facebook post, Wall Township police said a vehicle hit the pole along Hospital Road at around 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, Apr. 25. No injuries were reported in the crash. About 27,000 electric customers were without power Monday morning in southern Monmouth County. The exact cause of the widespread outage was not immediately known. New Jersey native Norah Bruther was struck and killed by an Arizona State University football player over the weekend, authorities said. Bruther, 23, of Sea Girt, was crossing Camelback Road in Scottsdale, AZ when she was struck by 22-year-old Sun Devil Stanley Kambert around 1 a.m. Saturday, Fox10 Phoenix reports.
