Traffic Alert: Crash Causes Hours-Long I-87 Closure In Saugerties
A fuel tank rollover crash has caused heavy delays on a busy stretch of the New York State Thruway. State Police said the crash has all I-87 southbound lanes closed from Exit 21 in Catskill to Ulster County in Saugerties Exit 20 for at least the next six hours. State police said the crash occurred in Ulster County around 3:50 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, near mile marker 105. No one was injured, but an unknown quantity of diesel fuel spilled and is in the process of being cleaned up. Fleeing Driver Hits Denville Officer, Arrested At Costco: Police
A 27-year-old Denville man was arrested and charged after he struck a police officer while fleeing on Sunday, Oct. 20, authorities said. While officers were conducting a traffic stop on Indian Road, it was discovered the driver, Liam Harrigan, had an active NCIC Warrant out of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, Denville police said. Police ID Pedestrian Killed By Car On Route 23 In West Milford
A 73-year-old man was struck and killed by a car early Tuesday, Sept. 10 in West Milford, authorities said. Mod A. Khader, of Lincoln Park, was trying to cross Route 23 south when he was struck by a vehicle around 6 a.m., Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes West Milford Police Chief James DeVore said. Khader was taken to Chilton Hospital where he died at 8:40 a.m. The vehicle that struck Khader remained at the scene and the investigation remains ongoing.

Driver Seriously Injured In Route 23 Crash:

A driver was seriously injured in a crash on Route 23, State Police said. The victim was headed south in a Kia SUV that sideswiped a Hyundai sedan coming in the opposite direction, then careened off the road and into a trailer in Wantage around noon Thursday, May 9, NJSP Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. The Kia driver was taken to an area hospital, the sergeant said. No other injuries were reported. New Jersey State Police are investigating.

An 91-year-old man whose car flipped after rear-ended another on Route 23 in Pequannock was in stable condition Friday, authorities said. The man, who sustained serious injuries in the 5:45 p.m. crash Thursday, was taken to St. Joseph's Medical Center, Pequonnock Police Capt. Dan Comune said.
