A Long Island man was arrested after allegedly beating a woman in a car and then threatening to pull a gun to make her do what he wanted.
The incident took place in Nassau County around 6:15 p.m., Monday, May 22 in Roslyn Heights.
According to Nassau County Police detectives, the victim, age 55, of Suffolk County in Wyandanch was traveling with Derrick Bonds, age 49, also of Wyandanch, in his blue-colored 2016 Mazda.

Two women have been charged with prostitution after a raid at a Long Island massage parlor.
In response to numerous community complaints, Suffolk County Police Second Precinct Crime Section officers conducted an investigation at Sunny Spa in Huntington Station, located at 825 East Jericho Turnpike, at approximately 3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 6.

Bank Robber Nabbed Shortly After Heist At Long Island Chase Branch
A Long Island man has been arrested for an alleged bank robbery, the fourth in the span of a week.
Darren Lindo, 36, of Roslyn Heights, was arrested following the robbery around 9:25 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 30, at the Chase Bank, located at 425 Glen Cove Road in Roslyn Heights, said the Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, Lindo allegedly entered the Chase Bank, approached the teller, and passed a note demanding money.
The teller complied and Lindo fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
There were four employees and two customers inside the bank at the time of the robbery.…
Covid-19: Long Island Sees Slight Uptick In Cases, Here's Breakdown By Towns
Long Island has seen a slight uptick in positive COVID-19 cases though statewide numbers continue trending in the right direction.
There have now been 44,924 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nassau, and 45,006 in Suffolk as each county saw less than 100 new cases in the latest numbers provided by the state Department of Health.
There have been 2,198 COVID-19 fatalities in Nassau and 2,005 in Suffolk.
On Long Island, the positive infection rate over the past three days:
Monday, Aug. 31: 1.0 percent;
Tuesday, Sept. 1: 0.8 percent;

Duo Attempted To Scam Long Island Man Out Of $6,500, Police Say
Two men attempted to pull a fast one on an elderly Long Island man, who alerted police, leading to their arrests.
A 74-year-old man who lives out of state was contacted by two men in Nassau County on Friday, Feb. 7, who stated that his son had been arrested and required bail money for his release, police said.
According to Nassau County Police, the victim was instructed to put $6,500 in cash into a package to be sent to the UPS facility in Uniondale. The victim became suspicious and proceeded to contact police.
