Man Convicted In Pleasantville HS Football Game Shooting, Killing 10-Year-Old Spectator A 35-year-old Atlantic City man has been convicted of murder in a Pleasantville High School football game shooting that killed a 10-year-old boy and wounded two other spectators, authorities said. Alvin Wyatt was convicted on Thursday, July 27, after a five-day jury trial, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. In addition to the murder conviction, the jury convicted Wyatt of two counts of attempted murder, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, and certain persons not to possess firearms, the prosecutor said. School officials notified parents of the evacuation at approximately 9:30 a.m., transporting them temporarily to the Pleasantville Middle School. Emergency crews were called to the school and gave the “all clear” less than an hour later, allowing the students to return to the building without further incident.
