Paterson Detective Justified In Shooting Armed Carjacker, Grand Jury Rules
UPDATE: A plainclothes Paterson police detective was justified in shooting a man who’d just crashed his car into two others, then tried to carjack multiple drivers, a state grand jury has found.
Hui Zhang, 33, of Pensacola, FL, was seen in area surveillance video crashing his car into two others that were stopped at the corner of Straight and Van Houten streets late on the afternoon of Oct. 10, 2022.
Zhang fled the scene, leaving his car behind, then threatened a group of people who were sitting in a car parked around the corner with what looked like a gun.

Arlington Marine Among 3 Dead In Osprey Crash
A U.S. Marine from Virginia was among three killed in an Osprey crash in Australia over the weekend.
U.S. Marine Corps Corporal Spencer R. Collart, 21, of Arlington, and two others died in the Sunday, Aug. 27 crash on Melville Island, north of Darwin, around 9:30 a.m., military officials said.
The two other Marines killed in the crash were:
U.S. Marine Corps Captain Eleanor V. LeBeau, 29, of Illinois; and U.S. Marine Corps Major Tobin J. Lewis, 37, the executive officer of VMM-363 (REIN), Marine Rotational Force – Darwin, of Colorado.

Patrick McCaughey III, 25, of Ridgefield, CT, was among the three men found guilty on Tuesday, Sept. 13, of felony and misdemeanor offenses for their actions on Jan. 6, 2021, the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia announced.

Former Yonkers resident Anthony Burton, who most recently lived in Pensacola, Florida, was found guilty of murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon following a trial for the murder of a Yonkers man in April 2016.
