Woman Getting Mail Struck Dead In Broad Daylight On US Rt 22: PA State Police
New details have been released by Pennsylvania State Police about a pedestrian being struck dead on Wednesday.
Michael E. Zimmerman, 62, of Harrisburg, was driving a 2016 Chevrolet west on William Penn Highway near the intersection with Racehorse Drive in Union Township (Lebanon County) when he struck Jill C. Staub, 51, of New Oxford, the state police detailed in the release.

New Oxford Woman Slashed In Face By Man During Argument, State Police Say
A 38-year-old New Oxford woman was cut in the face with a knife wielded by a New Oxford man, Pennsylvania State Police explained in a release on Thursday, March 16, 2023.
Daniel Steve Shelton, 45, was arrested when police arrived at the scene of the argument where the slashing happened on Carlisle Pike, Reading Township, on March 14, at 10:41 p.m., according to the release.
He was charged with two counts of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and harassment, according to his court docket.

A beloved 79-year-old grandma died on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, from injuries she sustained during a deadly home invasion on Dec. 22, 2021, according to a release by the York County coroner’s office.
Adam Schaffer, 54, had broken into Barbara “Barb” J. (Staub) Laughman’s home that she share with her husband of 60 years, Robert “Bob” E. Laughman, Pennsylvania state police say.
Schaffer assaulted the pair, but Mr. Laughman was able to shoot and kill Schaffer, police say.

Christopher Joseph Larry Speelman, 58, New Oxford, confessed at the Gettysburg State Police barracks on July 27 to the murder of Edna Laughman, 85, of Oxford Township over three decades earlier.
Laughman was raped and murdered in her home located on 1500 block of Carlisle Pike on Aug. 13, 1987.
