A 21-year-old Lowell found guilty of the fatal shooting of a man over online comments was sentenced to 20 years behind bars on Tuesday, May 28, authorities said.
Timmy Chan, 21, of Lowell, was convicted of second-degree murder, carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without a permit, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling in connection, the Middlesex District Attorney said.

Three adults are in custody and multiple weapons were seized following a gun trafficking sting in Berks County, according to authorities.
Reading police executed two search warrants at homes on the 500 block of South 18th Street and the 1500 block of North 14th Street on Wednesday, Nov. 16, as part of an ongoing investigation into illegal gun running, the department said in a release.
Two men and a woman, all Reading residents, were charged in connection with the bust, officials said.

A Connecticut man was shot and killed after being confronted by a man and woman while walking on a city street.
The incident took place in Hartford around 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 9 in the area of 2194 Main St.
Hartford Police officers responded to the area on a report of an unconscious male. Upon arrival, officers found 46-year-old Lamonte Brown, of Hartford lying on a sidewalk with apparent gunshot wounds, said Lt. Aaron Boisvert, of the Hartford Police.

An unoccupied stolen car kept rolling after its driver and passenger bailed out on a Paterson street, leaving a gun inside, authorities said.
Kadir Wright, 20, of Paterson was captured but the driver got away, Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said.

Stratford Felon Recently Released From Prison Busted With Guns/Drugs, Cops Say
A 34-year-old man was arrested on a warrant for drugs and illegal guns following an investigation into narcotics sales in the Stratford area.
Nolan Moore, 34, was arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 24, following the investigation by the Stratford Narcotics Vice and Intel Unit, as well as the Bridgeport Police Task Force and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, said Stratford Police Capt. Frank Eannotti.
During the execution of the warrant, detectives located marijuana and narcotics packaging, as well as two shotguns and several rounds of ammunition, Eannotti said.
