CT Man Gets Prison Time For Tax Evasion: Ordered To Pay Over $160K To IRS
A 61-year-old Connecticut man will spend time in prison for filing a false tax return and providing false documentation to an Internal Revenue Service attorney, federal officials announced.
Tolland County resident David Kamal, age 61, of Stafford, was sentenced on Monday, Sept. 11 to eight months in prison for tax evasion, the US Attorney's Office for the District of Connecticut announced.

ID Released For Man Found Shot Dead On Driveway In CT
State police have released the identity of a northern Connecticut man found fatally shot in a driveway.
The incident took place in Tolland County in Hebron on Grayville Road around 5:10 p.m., Saturday, May 21.
The victim has been identified as Joseph Serra, Jr., age 37, of Hebron, who died of gunshot wounds to his torso and upper extremities, according to the state Medical Examiner's Office.

CT AG Seeks State Custody Of Animals Seized From Unsanitary, Overcrowded Facility
Connecticut Attorney General William Tong is seeking state custody of 70 animals that were seized from an overcrowded, unsanitary animal rescue facility.
The animals were seized from CT Pregnant Dog and Cat Rescue, located on Porter Road in the Tolland County town of Hebron, on Friday, March 25.

It happened around 8:45 p.m., Saturday, April 9, on Route 6 Windham County in the town of Hampton, said the Connecticut State Police.

A 59-year-old woman was arrested on animal cruelty charges after police said numerous animals in her care were found suffering from neglect and poor living conditions in Connecticut.

CT Man Charged With Tax Fraud, Obstruction, ID Theft Offenses
A Connecticut man is facing a host of federal charges for alleged tax fraud, obstruction, and identity theft offenses, officials announced.
Tolland County resident David Kamal, age 60, of Stafford, formerly of Hebron, was charged in an 11-count indictment and will face years in prison if found guilty, US Attorney Leonard Boyle announced.
Specifically, Kamal was charged with:
Two counts of tax evasion;
Four counts of filing a false tax return;
Obstruction;
