Road Rage: CT Man Points Gun At Fellow Driver, Police Say
A man has been arrested following a road rage incident that took place on a Connecticut highway, police announced.
Litchfield County resident Kenneth Mack, age 64 of Harwinton, was taken into custody for his alleged outburst on Thursday, Nov. 2, according to Connecticut State Police.
At approximately 2:40 p.m. that day, Mack and another driver were traveling on Route 4.
The victim, who was driving behind Mack’s red Dodge Ram, reported to police that, as the two cars approached Birge Park Road, Mack abruptly came to a near-complete stop.

500 Gallons Of Cooking Oil Stolen From Restaurant: Westchester Duo Nabbed In CT, Police Say
Two New York men have been arrested for allegedly stealing more than 500 gallons of used cooking oil at a Connecticut restaurant.
The men, both from Westchester County, were stopped in Litchfield County in Harwinton around 5:45 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 12.
According to Connecticut State Police, the duo, identified as Yonkers residents Jeyson Santiago, age 25, and Isaac Then, age 25, were stopped after troopers received a 911 call regarding a suspicious vehicle parked near a restaurant in Harwinton.

Storm With Damaging Winds Knocks Out Power To Thousands In Connecticut
A strong storm with damaging wind gusts has left thousands without power in Connecticut.
At around 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, about 12,500 outages were reported statewide.
A total of 11,500 Eversource customers are without service, with most of the outages in the Town of Litchfield (1,959), Monroe (1,700) in Fairfield County, Cheshire (658) in New Haven County, Winchester (590) in Litchfield County, Farmington (487) in Hartford County, Thomaston (434) in Litchfield County, Southbury (414) in New Haven County, and Harwinton (337) in Litchfield County.

CT Girl Killed After Being Hit By Car While Talking With Family Member, Police Say
A 14-year-old Connecticut girl was killed after being hit by a car while she stood and talked with another driver in a Dodge Charger.
The accident took place in Litchfield County around 9 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 22, when the teen was talking with the driver of the Charger, who was a family member, on Route 222 (Hill Road), in Harwinton, said Connecticut State Pollice.
The teen who was standing on the shoulder of the roadway was hit when the second car, a Pontiac, swerved to the miss the stopped Charger, state police said.

Storm With Gusty Winds Knocks Out Power, Brings Down Trees, Power Lines In Litchfield County
Thousands of Litchfield County residents were left in the dark as storms rolled through the region, bringing whipping winds of more than 50 mph that toppled tree limbs and downed power lines.
As of 1:45 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 29,787 of Eversource’s 1,279,556 customers were without power, while the United Illuminating Company was reporting 27 outages impacting 783 of their 337,094 Connecticut customers.

With tens of thousands of travelers driving through Connecticut during the Thanksgiving week, State Police are ramping up their plans to keep highways safe for all during the holiday rush.
Beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 21, just after midnight, and running through Sunday, Nov. 25 at 11:59 p.m., state police will supplement its normal routine patrol personnel with additional Troopers throughout the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
