Tristate Twister: Tornado With 100 MPH Winds Travels Through CT, 2 Other States
A survey conducted by the National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado caused damage across three states during a severe thunderstorm including in Connecticut.
The tornado touched down Wednesday, Sept. 13 in Windham County in Killingly.
It then traveled over the towns of Foster, Glocester, and Lincoln in Providence County, Rhode Island, and then finally, into North Attleboro, Massachusetts, in Bristol County.
According to the National Weather Service, most of the damage was confined to downed trees and limbs, with some roof and home damage.

Tornado Touches Down In Connecticut Leaving Trail Of Downed Trees, Destroyed Vehicles
A tornado touched down in Connecticut during a severe thunderstorm leaving behind damaged trees, missing shingles, and two destroyed vehicles.
The tornado rated an EF-0 (the weakest of the five levels on the Enhanced Fujita Scale), touched between 6:11 p.m. and 6:18 p.m., Sunday, July 18, in the Town of Somers, located in Tolland County near the Massachusetts border, according to the National Weather Service.
The tornado was first reported by amateur radio operators on a tip from a trained Skywarn Weather Spotter, the service said.

New Tornado Touchdown Confirmed In Region, Bringing Total To Three
A new tornado touchdown from severe storm activity in the region on Thursday, Aug. 27 has been confirmed.
The National Weather Service announced on Sunday, Aug. 30 that an Enhanced Fujita Scale (EF) 0 twister touched down in Kent, Connecticut, near the Dutchess County border in Litchfield County, at 3:31 p.m. Thursday.
An EF-0 twister, with winds of 65 to 85 miles per hour, is the weakest of six types of twisters. (See the scale at the bottom of this page.)
