The legendary actress and comedian Whoopi Goldberg, who has won an Emmy, Oscar, Tony and Grammy, will be signing copies of her new book, "Bits and Pieces: My Mother, My Brother and Me," at Bookends in Ridgewood on Thursday May 9, at 5:30 p.m.
Goldberg, a longtime West Orange resident, wrote the book as a tribute to her mother, Emma, and her brother, Clyde, who died in 2010 and 2015, respectively. Brooklyn residents Tysheen Cooper, 28, Michael Liburd, 33, and Maurice Washington, 30, members of the West End Enterprise, pleaded guilty in federal court in Brooklyn this week to a racketeering conspiracy involving their participation in the murder of Antwon Flowers.

Area Man Admits To Illegally Selling Sharks
An area man who was arrested in March for having live sharks in his basement has pleaded guilty to the crime.
Joshua Seguine, 38, of Lagrangeville, admitted Friday, July 12, to keeping live Sandbar sharts, a protected species, and attempting to sell them over the internet, said New York Attorney General Letitia James and Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Basil Seggos.
According to the felony complaint, Seguine came to the attention of DEC Law Enforcement in July of 2017, after he was found in possession of five undersized sharks in the back of his truck.
