Temps Climb To 100s, Risk Of Downpours Looms In Northeast: Here's The Timing
Another round of heat and storms is on deck for the Northeast, starting now, forecasters say.
The beginning of the week will start out hot with a chance of storms in the late-afternoon and evening, however, the highest chance of severe weather comes mid-week, AccuWeather says.
Monday, July 15 will be mostly sunny with a high between 97 and 100 from New Jersey to Washington DC, and a widespread risk of thunderstorms in the evening, mainly before 10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service and AccuWeather.

A rapidly developing, rare fall Nor'easter will bring heavy downpours, flash flooding, and damaging wind gusts to the region that could cause power outages.

Is The Drought Over Yet? Northern Part Of State Dryer Than The Rest
The downpour that soaked the region deposited 2-4 inches of rainfall in Connecticut communities, but still, much of North Eastern Connecticut is experiencing extreme drought.
According to state data released Thursday, Oct.1, nearly 25 percent of the state is experiencing “extreme” drought - the second highest degree of drought tracked by the state. The worst degree of drought is “exceptional.”
The ranking goes, from least to most drought-like conditions are None, Abnormally Dry, Moderate Drought, Severe Drought, Extreme Drought, Exceptional Drought.
