Two-Month-Old Dies In Elizabeth: Authorities
A two-month-old infant died in Elizabeth on Monday, Oct. 21, authorities said.
Police responded to a report of an unresponsive infant at Pingry Place, a spokeswoman for the city said. Both parents were working, and their eldest child was watching his younger siblings, including the infant, when the infant had a medical emergency, authorities said.
The infant was pronounced dead at Trinitas Hospital, authorities said.
The Division of Child Protection and Permanency was notified, authorities said. No foul play was suspected and the incident remains under investigation, authorities said.

A man has admitted to raping a child in his care and filming it, the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office announce on Monday, Jan. 8.
On Wednesday, Jan. 3, Arturo Aleman, 47, of the 100 block of Green Street, Lancaster, admitted to raping a child in his care in Lancaster and Berks counties from 2016 through 2022.
When the girl was just 14 years old she "disclosed the abuse to Lancaster City Bureau of Police Detective Jessica Higgins, who began her investigation in Oct. 2022," the DA explained.

A new poll of U.S. households with children found that more than 60 percent are facing major financial difficulties since the COVID-19 outbreak.
Released in September, the new study, “The Impact of Coronavirus on Households With Children,” is a research project between NPR, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health.

New Jersey is gearing up to enter the second stage of its economic restart and recovery following the COVID-19 lockdown, officials said Monday.
