Truck Flips On Route 48 In South Jersey (Developing) A truck crashed and overturned jamming traffic on Route 48 in Salem County, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 6:50 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3 in Carneys Point Township, according to NJ DOT. Traffic in both directions west of Route 40 was affected, 511nj.org reported. Motorcycle Crash Victim, 23, ID'd By Police In South Jersey Police have identified the Salem County motorcyclist killed when he collided with a school bus earlier this month. Joel Morales, 23, of Carneys Point Township, was riding north on Route 130 at about 2 p.m. on Feb. 1 when he collided with a bus pulling out of Ross Enterprises, near Washington Avenue, according to Carneys Point Police Detective Joseph Racite. Morales was pronounced dead at the scene, Racite said. There were no students aboard the bus at the time, Racite said. The bus driver was not injured, he said. Tractor-Trailer Crashes On NJ Turnpike A tractor-trailer collided with a passenger car on the New Jersey Turnpike, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1 in Carneys Point Township, according to New Jersey State Police. Based on a preliminary investigation, a Chevy passenger vehicle and an East tractor-trailer were traveling southbound. In the area of milepost 10, both vehicles collided, State Police said. No injuries were reported and there is no additional information available.

Fatal Crash: Katonah Man ID'd After Slamming Into Toll Plaza Barrier A Northern Westchester man died in a fiery crash that closed the New Jersey Turnpike Saturday morning, July 22, police said. Henry Subin, age 77, of Katonah, was heading north in a Jeep Grand Cherokee when he struck the concrete barrier of the toll plaza, overturned, and became fully engulfed in flames around 9:45 a.m. in Carneys Point Township, located in southwestern New Jersey in Salem County. The crash, near milepost 2.4 on the northbound side, closed toll lanes for four hours.  Subin was killed as a result. The crash remains under investigation.

Christopher D. Leaf, 34, of Pennsville Township, was driving south on Interstate 295 in Carneys Point Township at about 10:30 p.m. on April 24 when his car left the interstate, according to New Jersey State Police. Leaf died of his injuries in the single-car crash, police said. No one else was in his car.

A black Honda left the roadway and struck a tree, police said. The Honda became engulfed in flames and the driver sustained fatal injuries, police said. No one else was in the car. State Police ID Driver Killed On I-295 In South Jersey Authorities have released the name of a Camden County man killed when his car struck a concrete barrier in Salem County. Anthony Joy Jr., 58, of Pine Hill, was driving a Nissan Sentra south on Interstate 295 in Carneys Point Township shortly before 8 a.m. on March 20, according to Trooper Charles Marchan, a New Jersey State Police spokesman.  In the area of milepost 1.3 the Nissan struck a curbed median and concrete barrier, Marchan said. Joy was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.
