Greenwich Man Brandished Machete In Byram Dispute, Police Say A Greenwich man was arrested following a dispute in which he allegedly brandished a machete at another person. Roderick Gordon, 47, was arrested around 8:17 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 11, when Greenwich Police Police responded to a report of a dispute in the Byram section of town, said the Greenwich Police. According to an investigation, while in a "loud" argument with another person Gordon brandished a machete and moved toward the other person in a hostile manner.  Gordon was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, threatening and disorderly conduct. On Sunday, July 21 at approximately 9 p.m. police noticed a woman standing outside a residence she frequents in Byram. who had an active warrant for her arrest for allegedly evading an accident June 10, Greenwich Police said. During the investigation, she allegedly gave a false name to police to hide her identity, according to police. Westchester Man Charged With Violating Order Of Protection In Greenwich A 46-year-old Westchester man was arrested for violating two orders of protection in Greenwich. Jermaine Powell of Port Chester was arrested on Friday, Feb. 15, after Greenwich Police were called to a home in Byram for a report of a verbal altercation, said Greenwich Police. When officers arrived they found that Powell had violated an order the two victims had filed against him by being at the residence, police said. He was charged with violation of a protective order and held on $1,000 bond.

Move Your Car: Greenwich Selectmen Declare Snow Emergency Before Storm Hits GREENWICH, Conn. – With the National Weather Service predicting several inches of snow to fall overnight and throughout Thursday, a snow emergency has been declared by the Greenwich Board of Selectmen. The snow emergency prohibits on-street parking on designated routes beginning at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3. The parking ban will enable Department of Public Works crews and its contractors to effectively clear the town's roadways. Residents are advised to park their vehicles in their driveways or yards.
