50 MPH Winds Knock Power To More Than 30K New Jersey Residents
Wind gusts nearing 50 miles per hour left thousands of New Jersey residents without power Monday, March 11.
According to the National Weather Service, winds are expected to die down in the evening with a wind advisory in effect until 11 p.m.
Skies will be mostly cloudy with a high near 50.

Two pets died in a Sussex County house fire in which an off-duty trooper and firefighter was the first to respond, officials said.
Reports of a fire came from a neighbor on on Saddleback Road in Stillwater around 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 22, fire officials said.
"A nearby trooper who is also a firefighter arrived on scene and reported a working fire," the Stillwater Area Volunteer Fire Company said on Facebook.
Firefighters from Stillwater, Hampton, Fredon, Andover, Blairstown, Byram, Green, and Branchville responded, with Knowlton on standby.

Motorcyclist, 37, Dies After Hitting Guardrail, Trees In Warren County: State Police
A 37-year-old motorcyclist was killed after crashing into a guardrail and two trees in Warren County on Tuesday afternoon, May 30, state police confirmed.
The crash occurred on County Route 521 northbound near milepost 2.3 in Hope Township around 2:20 p.m., NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry told Daily Voice.
Gerald Grenewicz, of Blairstown, was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle that veered off the left side of the road, hit the end of a metal guardrail, and struck two trees, Curry said.
Grenewicz was killed in the crash.
The incident remained under investigation. No further details were released.

Man, 57, Sexually Assaulted Child For Years At Warren County Home, Prosecutor Says
A Warren County man has been charged in connection to a series of sexual assaults on a girl spanning five years, authorities said.
Mark Van Grouw, 57, “engaged the victim in multiple sexual acts” between 1990 and 1995 at his home in Blairstown, Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer said in a joint release Friday.
The abuse began when the victim was 10 years old, Pfeiffer added.
Van Grouw, of Dutch Hill Road, was charged with two counts each of first-degree sexual assault and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, as well as four counts of second-degree sexual assault.

A mason dump truck drove over a propane tank in Sussex County, causing a massive leak that took hours to repair and required an evacuation of the area, authorities said.
Fire departments in Stillwater, Fredon, and Hampton responded to the Bear Brook community in Fredon alongside numerous local emergency crews around 11 a.m. on Sunday, May 29, authorities said.
Upon arrival, the teams found that the mason dump had driven over an underground 1,500-gallon propane tank and ripped off the relief valve from the top.
