Monsey Man Caught Spray Painting American/Israeli Flag, Police Say A Hudson Valley man was caught in the act of allegedly defacing a joint American/Israeli flag with spray paint, police said. The incident occurred in Rockland County around 4:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, in the Monsey area of Ramapo. According to Lt. Chris Franklin of the Ramapo Police, a patrol officer spotted the man wearing a face mask while walking on Main Street in Monsey. Vandal Steals American Flag, Say Newtown Police An American flag was stolen from a pole in Newtown Borough, authorities say.  Strong winds on the night of Friday, Jan. 13 caused the flagpole outside the Countryside Gallery at 2 South State Street to snap, police said in a statement.  While the banner was hanging down, a vandal leaped up and snatched it, investigators believe.
