Post Office Thefts: Police Warn Residents To Stop Mailing Checks In Mamaroneck Following a series of post office thefts, police in a Westchester municipality are warning residents to avoid mailing checks. In an announcement on Wednesday, June 5, the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department advised residents to stop mailing checks at their local post offices.  The warning follows thefts from both the inside and outside of post offices, the department added.  More information about the thefts has not yet been released. Ramp Between Taconic Parkway, Busy Route To Close For Day In Mount Pleasant Motorists in Westchester are being advised to watch out for a ramp closure that will block the way between a busy parkway and a main route in Northern Westchester.  On Wednesday, June 5, the ramp from the northbound Taconic State Parkway to Exit 5 (Route 9A) in Mount Pleasant will close, the New York State Department of Transportation announced.
