A man allegedly opened fire inside a Long Island business before engaging in a three-hour standoff with police.
Emergency crews in Riverhead were called at around 3:50 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, for a man shooting a gun inside the Cross Island Concrete Corporation, located on Kroemer Avenue.
Multiple agencies, including the Riverhead, Suffolk County, and Southold police departments responded and cordoned off the area surrounding the business.

A local man has been accused of driving drunk with an infant in the vehicle after a crash near a busy Long Island intersection.
The crash happened in Riverhead at about 6:10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, and involved a black Chevrolet pickup truck and a gray Jeep Cherokee eastbound on Main Road near the intersection of Route 105, Riverhead Police said.

A man and woman are facing a host of charges on Long Island after being busted during a routine traffic stop, police announced.
In Riverhead, local police conducted a traffic stop of a driver on Peconic Avenue shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Friday, April 1, when he committed a vehicle and traffic violation in the area.
During the subsequent stop, it was determined that the driver, Bay Shore resident Adam Hunstein, age 33, did not have a valid driver’s license after it was revoked by the Department of Motor Vehicles for undisclosed reasons.
