Man Electrocuted, Second Injured At Bellmore Ice Skating Rink
A man was electrocuted while working at an ice rink on Long Island in an incident that required him to be airlifted and left a second person injured.
The Bellmore incident occurred on Friday, June 14, Nassau County Police said.
At about 11:30 a.m., a 62-year-old man was working in the electrical service room of 2600 Newbridge Road, the site of the Newbridge Arena.
While he was working, he got electrocuted, causing burns on his arms and stomach.
A second man, age 39, attempted to help him, however, he suffered burns to his arm while doing so.

Thieves Snatch Teaneck Residents' Checks From Postal Boxes, Forge Them For $240,218
A criminal crew stole checks mailed by Teaneck residents from postal boxes, then changed the amounts to more than 100 times the totals and cashed them, federal authorities said.
Noah Aranzamendi, 25, of Brooklyn, and his associates used universal (or "arrow") keys to open the outdoor mailboxes, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said.
They then shared images via an encrypted message app of the checks, which were then altered, the U.S. attorney said.
The four checks, which were initially written out for a total of $1,896.59, ended up fetching a whopping $240,218, he said.

Serial Siphoner: Man Steals Cooking Oil Dozens Of Times Across Nassau County, Police Say
A Queens man has been arrested after police said he stole cooking oil from multiple businesses on Long Island.
Rabindra Singh, age 47, was nabbed in connection to a series of cooking oil thefts, the Nassau County Police announced on Monday, May 6.
His arrest comes after Singh, who is from Queens, allegedly was caught at Frantoni’s Pizzeria, located at 1928 Hempstead Turnpike, East Meadow, using a power pump and blue hose to siphon cooking oil into his 2012 Ford Econoline van.
Singh was arrested at the scene with no incidents.

A Long Island man and a man from Romania were arrested on charges including scheme to defraud for allegedly using card skimming devices at multiple grocery stores.
Nassau County Police arrested Marius Adrian Dobre, age 27, and Paul Mihaita Tudor, age 30, on Thursday, May 2 following an investigation.
Authorities said Tudor, who is from Ridgewood, Queens, and Dobre, who is a Romanian national, placed card-skimming devices on credit card terminals at grocery stores across Nassau County.
