Alleged Hit-Run Biker Who Left Floral Park Teen In Coma Enters Plea
The man accused of hitting a University at Albany student from Long Island with his dirt bike, leaving her in a medically induced coma, formally responded to the charges against him.
Albany County resident Austin Breyette, age 25, of Watervliet, pleaded not guilty to assault and related charges on Monday, June 3, stemming from an alleged hit-and-run crash that seriously injured UAlbany freshman Alexa Kropf.
The 18-year-old Kropf, a Long Island native from Floral Park, was struck just blocks from the UAlbany campus at around midnight Saturday, April 27.

Nearly a month after a University at Albany student from Long Island was severely injured in a hit-and-run dirt bike crash, a suspect is behind bars.
Albany Police arrested Austin Breyette, age 25, of Watervliet, early Thursday morning, May 23, in connection with the collision that left 18-year-old UAlbany freshman Alexa Kropf in a medically induced coma.
Kropf, a Long Island native from Floral Park, was struck by a dirt bike rider just blocks from the UAlbany campus at around midnight Saturday, April 27.

Update: 16-Year-Old Cohoes Boy Missing Over Week Found Safe

A 16-year-old boy from the region who had been missing for more than a week has been found.
Albany County resident Deondrae Thomas, of Cohoes, had last been seen leaving his home on Monday, April 3, according to Cohoes Police.
On Friday, April 14, police announced that Thomas had been found and was returned home safely.

Kerdel Young, of Albany, was arrested for second-degree murder Tuesday, Feb. 14, in connection to the death of 39-year-old Anthony Dias, according to Albany Police.

An elderly man from the region was scammed out of thousands of dollars by a fraudster posing as a city worker, authorities said.
Rensselaer County resident Joseph Celeone, age 40, of Troy, was arrested Monday, Feb. 6, for grand larceny and criminal impersonation, according to the Watervliet Police Department in Albany County.
Detectives were initially contacted in late December 2022 by a 75-year-old Watervliet resident who told police he was approached by a man claiming to work for the City of Watervliet.

Convicted Felon Tried Stabbing 2 Victims In Watervliet Home, Police Say
A convicted felon is facing a fresh set of charges after allegedly trying to stab two people inside a home in the region, authorities said.
Officers in Albany County were called at around 1:40 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, with reports of an assault at a home in Watervliet on 4th Avenue, according to Watervliet Police.
When police arrived, they determined that 43-year-old Brad Bova, of Watervliet, had attempted to stab the victims with a large knife. He then barricaded himself inside the home.

Doctor From Watervliet Sentenced for Filing False Tax Returns, Ordered To Pay $245,212
A New York doctor will avoid prison after admitting that he filed false tax returns.
Albany County resident Ehab Kodsi, age 56, of Watervliet, was sentenced to pay $245,212 in restitution and pay an additional $25,000 fine Thursday, Nov. 3, in federal court in Albany.
The sentence followed Kodsi’s guilty plea to filing a false tax return and admission that he deliberately underreported revenue from both his pain management company in Queensbury, in Warren County, and his real estate company between 2015 and 2018.
He was also accused of improperly deducting personal and business expenses.…
