Report: Three Hudson Valley Locales Among Top 10 Safest Communities In Nation
Four New York communities, with two in Westchester County, made a list of the country's 10 safest small towns, compiled using rates of violent and property crime, compiled by Safewise.
The town of Lewisboro in Northern Westchester, which has a population of 12,823, had no reported instances of violent or property crime in 2019, and placed first nationwide.
In all 10 communities on average, .13 people per 1000 people are victims of violent crime, compared to the national average of 3.7 people per 1000.

Areas in the Hudson Valley are experiencing record numbers of deer-vehicle collisions, according to AAA Northeast.
According to the New York State Department of Transportation, an average of 65,000 deer-related accidents take place within the state per year, a majority taking place during the animal's mating season in October through November.

A man arrested then released per New York bail reform laws twice, stole five cars over two days, robbing two stores and leading officers on a police chase in the area.

Covid-19: Here's The Latest Number Of Positive Cases In NYC, All State Counties
There have been newly confirmed novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in 55 New York counties as the statewide total climbed to 159,937.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced at his daily COVID-19 press briefing on Thursday, April 9 that there have been 10,621 new cases of the virus, which resulted in 7,067 deaths.
Approximately 18,000 New Yorkers are still hospitalized with COVID-19.
