All lanes of the NJ Turnpike were closed in Bergen County Sunday evening, June 16. The NJDOT says it happened in the express lanes of the northbound side south of Exit 71 (Route 4/Broad Avenue) in Leonia. A vehicle crash and overturned tractor-trailer brought a massive emergency response to the New Jersey Turnpike in Burlington County early Tuesday, May 14. A driver from Philadelphia was seriously hurt in the crash, according to New Jersey State Police. Troopers responded to the crash at about 6 a.m. at Interchange 4 in Mount Laurel Township. Based on a preliminary investigation, a Mack tractor-trailer operated by a 59-year-old Philadelphia man was traveling northbound on the Turnpike and was negotiating a curve of the entrance ramp at milepost 34.6, State Police said. Tractor Trailer Overturns, Becomes Wedged Under Overpass On NJ Turnpike In Mount Laurel
A portion of the NJ Turnpike was closed in Mount Laurel Tuesday morning, May 7 due to an overnight accident. A Kenworth tractor-trailer was heading southbound when it lost control, struck a guardrail and overturned at milepost 37 around 3:35 a.m., NJSP Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. The driver of the Kenworth suffered moderate injuries and was taken to an area hospital. The crash remains under investigation.

A pair of young men were killed in a crash on the NJ Turnpike early Christmas morning, authorities said. Pedro Morales Roias, 28, and Rolando Perez Aragon, 21, both of Bridgeton, were killed when the car they were passengers in tried changing into the lane of a tractor trailer that was trying to pass them on the northbound side in Westampton around 5:15 a.m., New Jersey State Police said. A car carrier that burst into flames jammed the NJ Turnpike Tuesday, Nov. 8 in Essex County. Passenger Killed In NJ Turnpike Crash
A passenger was killed when the vehicle she was traveling in crashed on the New Jersey Turnpike, authorities said. The SUV was traveling south near milepost 18.5 in West Deptford Township at about 4 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, when it left the roadway to the right and struck a guardrail, according to New Jersey State Police. A passenger in the vehicle, Kayla Rodriguez, 26, of Falls Church, VA, died of her injuries, State Police said. Authorities did not say if the driver, a 30-year-old Falls Church man, or a young passenger were hurt. The crash remains under investigation.
