Hatboro Barber Fires 7 Shots, Kills Neighbor While On Phone With Dispatchers, DA Says
A barber calling police on his neighbor shot and killed him while on the phone with dispatchers, authorities in Montgomery County said.
Stephen Strassburg, of Hatboro, was on the phone with dispatchers when 41-year-old Maurice Byrd shot him just before 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele said.
Strassburg lives above Byrd's business, Razor Reese's Salon and Spa on North York Road, and the two apparently had been involved in an ongoing dispute, Steele said alongside Hatboro Police Chief Mark Ruegg.

Prosecutors in Montgomery County have filed additional charges against medical assistant Ramon Garcia.

Support is surging for Montgomery County children who were left without either parent in a weekend murder-suicide.
As previously reported by Daily Voice, Durdona Sultanova, 43, was shot and killed by her ex-husband, 44-year-old Al Allaberg, in a home on the 400 block of Carson Terrace Saturday, March 16.

Marcus Pochettino, a Montgomery County husband and father of two, died suddenly in a car crash last Tuesday, Feb. 27, loved ones said in a GoFundMe. He was 38.

A suspect in Montgomery County is now also accused in a string of burglaries at Bucks County businesses, according to authorities.
Chiayi Chen, who is being held in Montco for burglary and related counts, is a suspect in three 2023 Lower Southampton thefts, said township police in a release.

A Montgomery County woman has died after she was accidentally struck by her own car in Catasauqua on Sunday night, Feb. 4, according to officials.
Santosh Gupta-Bala, 64, of Blue Bell, was taking items from the trunk when her car began to roll backward, said the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. She tried to get back into the car but fell underneath and was hit, authorities said.
