14-Year-Old Carjacked Man In Troy Before Fleeing Cops, Crashing, Police Say
A 14-year-old boy is behind bars, accused of carjacking a man at gunpoint before leading police on a pursuit and crashing in the Capital District.
In Rensselaer County, Troy Police were called at around 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, by a man claiming that his car had been stolen at gunpoint by a young male.
During their conversation with the victim, additional officers spotted the vehicle being driven in downtown Troy, near 3rd and Fulton streets.
Police attempted to stop the suspect, but the driver immediately fled, leading to a short vehicle pursuit, police said.

Woman Was Raped, Strangled By Registered Sex Offender In Guilderland, Police Say
A convicted rapist is once again behind bars, accused of repeatedly raping and strangling a woman in the Capital District.
Albany County resident, Wyatt Bleau, age 27, of Guilderland, was arrested following an investigation into crimes that allegedly occurred over a seven-day period, beginning on Thursday, Aug. 11.
During that time, Bleau held the victim against her will and repeatedly sexually assaulted her at his home, she told Guilderland Police.
He was arrested on multiple charges, including first-degree rape and strangulation.

Traffic Stop In Livingston Turns Up Stolen Car, Gun, Drugs
Three people are facing charges after state troopers recovered a stolen car and gun in the Capital District.
Troopers in Columbia County stopped the Hyundai Santa Fe just before 1 p.m. Thursday, July 14, on State Route 9 near Stickles Road in Livingston.
The vehicle had been reported stolen from Livingston the previous Friday, July 8, according to New York State Police.
Inside the car troopers found three suspects, along with small amounts of crack-cocaine and heroin, police said. They also recovered a stolen Ruger 17 HMR rifle.

Suspect In Fatal Albany Shooting Pleads Guilty
The suspect accused of gunning down a Capital District man in the summer of 2021 has confessed to the crime.
Albany resident Shimair Perrin, age 29, pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter Monday, June 27, in the fatal shooting of Lamon Lanier.

Lanier, age 34, was shot July 23, 2021 near Willet Street and Hudson Avenue in Albany, not far from Washington Park, according to the Albany County District Attorney.
