Man Punches Victim In Face, Then Fights, Injures Officers At New Hyde Park Gym, Cops Say
A man was charged with assault after allegedly punching another man in the face at a Long Island gym and then fighting with, and injuring, police officers attempting to arrest him.
The incident took place in New Hyde Park around 3:50 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 2 at the LA Fitness located on Marcus Avenue.
According to Nassau County Police detectives, officers responded to the gym for a report of a man bleeding.

A strange scene unfolded at a Long Island hotel where a burglar handed over his ID to his victims during a late-night theft, leading to his arrest, police said.
It is alleged that at approximately 3 a.m. on Friday, April 16, Michael C. Lee, age 29, of Bayside, Queens, who was staying at the Travelodge on Northern Boulevard in Manhasset, broke into another guest’s room through an unlocked sliding window.
